About the wiki

Welcome to the Steal An Egg Wiki, a fan-made guide for the Roblox game Steal an Egg. The main objective is to collect and steal valuable eggs while avoiding the guardian monsters that protect them.

Each egg contains a unique pet, hatched in your base pen. Pets generate income per second ($/s). Spend it on better pens, treadmills, and trails to move faster and unlock higher-level biomes.

Use the sections below to browse pets, color mutations, areas, treadmills and trails. Click any pet card to expand its details.

Eggs & pets

About eggs

Eggs are one of the primary mechanics and progression systems. Players locate nests in various areas, retrieve eggs while dodging guardian beasts, and carry them back to their base pens to hatch unique pets. The value of the egg and the income of the pet depend on two main factors: its size and its rarity.

Egg colors only change appearance. They do not change income, so judge eggs by shape instead.

Spawn & reset mechanics

  • Egg resets: eggs reset every 5 minutes.
  • Biome eggs: each area has its own specific eggs.
  • Limited eggs: special event eggs (such as Brainrot Eggs) do not spawn in normal biome nests and can only be obtained through the Store or special events like Admin Abuse.

About pets

Pets (commonly known as Creatures) are the game's core mechanic. Collect and hatch them to raise your income per second ($/s), move faster across the map, and unlock higher-level biomes.

Stacking & multipliers

Mutations and size traits stack by multiplying base income:

Final Income = Base Income × Color Multiplier × Size Multiplier

Egg sizes & guardians

Larger eggs carry a higher value multiplier, but they are heavier and slow you down. Sleeping guardian monsters protect every nest, so train your Speed (via Treadmills and Trails) before going after rare eggs.

Mutations

Color mutations, sometimes called auras, change a pet's appearance and apply an income multiplier independent of its size. Every hatched pet has a chance to roll one of these variants, and rarer auras stack with a good size roll to push income far above a pet's base rate.

Shattered

Shattered

x4

Not obtainable through normal hatch rolls. Can be applied to an egg with a Mutation Consumable for a 10% chance.

Rainbow

Rainbow

x3.5

Animated rainbow effect that continuously changes colors. Extremely rare hatch roll — roll weight 1 out of 100.

Parasite

Parasite

x3

Not obtainable through normal hatch rolls. Comes from its own dedicated Parasite Egg, obtained through the feeding event.

Golden

Golden

x2.5

Shiny metallic gold texture with coin particles. Roll weight 4 out of 100.

Spirit Bloom

Spirit Bloom

x2.5

Green spiritual effect. Currently unobtainable via normal roll — obtained instead through the Sakura Incubator.

Bloom

Bloom

x1.25

Cherry blossom petal particles. Likely gated behind the Sakura event rather than normal hatching.

Silver

Silver

x1.2

Shiny silver appearance with metallic reflections. Roll weight 6 out of 100.

How to get the Sakura Incubator mutations

Spirit Bloom and Bloom can only be applied through the Sakura Incubator during the Cherry Blossom event. Follow these steps:

  1. Unlock Cherry Blossom: reach the required speed to enter the Cherry Blossom biome.
  2. Collect Sakura Crystals: gather crystals from the biome to charge the incubator.
  3. Place a pet inside: choose the pet you want to mutate before charging further.
  4. Charge to the right threshold: lower charge rolls a chance at Bloom; full charge guarantees Spirit Bloom.

Tip: charge decays if the incubator sits idle too long. Feed it crystals in a steady stream rather than saving up one large batch, or you risk losing progress overnight.

Creature sizes & stacking

A creature's size is an independent trait from its color mutation, displayed as a weight in kg on the pet card. Size rolls are easier to obtain than rare color mutations, and the two multiply together:

Final Income = Base Income × Color Multiplier × Size Multiplier

Areas

Areas (zones) are different parts of the map where players find and steal eggs. Each area is progressively farther from your base and generally contains stronger guardians and better eggs. Most areas unlock by reaching a certain amount of Speed, which is trained on the Treadmill.

Tips

Treadmills

The Treadmill is a training machine used to increase your Speed, one of the most important stats in the game. Higher Speed is required to access later areas, escape stronger guardians, and carry stolen eggs back to your base. Upgrade your treadmill to gain Speed more effectively.

Fun fact: before the Cherry Blossom update, players could watch TikTok-like videos on the treadmills, and could even like and comment on them!

Trails

Trails are upgrades that boost your movement Speed by a fixed multiplier. Higher-rarity trails cost significantly more but grant a much larger Speed multiplier. You need them to reach the farthest biomes.

Tip: only one trail can be equipped at a time. Equipping a higher-rarity trail always replaces the one currently active.

Rift event

Strange rifts are tearing open across the map. Enter one, defeat the Overlord inside, and earn rewards that cannot be obtained anywhere else in Steal an Egg.

New pets Rift Boss Event Boss Mastery New currency

Rift Boss Event

A rift opens somewhere on the map every 30 minutes. Step inside, defeat the Overlord waiting there, and you earn Boss Tokens to spend in the Boss Shop.

Boss Shop: tokens buy temporary boosts (cash multipliers, speed multipliers, treadmill boosters) plus a consumable Mutation Shard with a chance to apply a mutation to an egg already sitting in your pen.

Boss mastery

Every Overlord you defeat also earns Boss Mastery Points. Progressing through the mastery track unlocks increasingly valuable rewards, including eggs pre-loaded with the Fractured mutation.

Rift sacrifices

A separate rift sits permanently in the lobby. It asks for 3 random pets from your collection. Hand them over to receive 1 exclusive Rift egg in return.

Rift pets

All pets obtainable through the event are in the grid above. Filter by the Rift biome to see them.

Permanent rift banners

Separate from the timed boss encounters, a permanent rift banner rotates through three egg pools. Each pool draws its pets from a specific set of biomes rather than being tied to a single area:

Banner Draws from
Riftborn Jungle, Snow, and Volcano eggs
Riftbeasts Volcano, Abyss Ocean, Prehistoric, and Cosmic eggs
Shattered Rift Prehistoric, Cosmic, Cherry Blossom, and Titan Temple eggs

Rotation: the active banner cycles roughly every 3 hours. The live pool decides which pets can currently drop from the permanent rift.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Mutation Shard work on eggs that are still growing?

Yes, it works on both growing and fully grown eggs sitting in your pen.

Does pity reset when I leave or when the banner rotates?

No, pity carries over regardless of leaving the area or the banner changing.

How do I use the Mutation Shard consumable?

Walk up to an egg in your pen and interact with it. The shard has roughly a 10% chance to apply a mutation to that egg.

What do I do once the boss faints mid-fight?

The Overlord periodically faints during the encounter. When it does, hit its hand to keep the fight going.

Tip: you receive a batch of Boss Shards each time you complete a rift fight. Save them up and spend them on whichever Boss Shop boost fits your current progression best, rather than spending them the moment you get them.
